Tarangire National Park is renowned for its huge elephant herds, iconic baobab trees, and seasonal swamps that draw in a variety of wildlife. It’s an excellent destination for a full-day safari experience just a few hours from Arusha or Moshi.

Trip Itinerary

Morning: Depart for Tarangire National Park

Depart early from Arusha (around 7:00 AM) for a 2-hour drive to Tarangire. Upon arrival, begin your game drive immediately through the park’s vast savannah and acacia woodlands.

Midday: Wildlife Viewing & Lunch

Explore Tarangire’s diverse habitats and spot elephants, lions, giraffes, buffalo, and possibly leopards. Birdlife is abundant, with over 500 species recorded. Enjoy your packed lunch at a picnic site with a view of the Tarangire River.

Afternoon: Continue Game Drive & Return

Continue with a leisurely game drive before exiting the park by mid-afternoon. Return to Arusha or Moshi by early evening.
