6-Day Tanzania Safari Itinerary

An extended safari through four of Tanzania’s most iconic parks — perfect for travelers seeking a complete and rewarding wildlife experience.

Itinerary Overview

Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Drive Time: ~2 hours
Start your safari with a game drive in Tarangire, home to elephants, baobabs, and seasonal riverbeds. Overnight near Lake Manyara or Karatu.

Day 2: Drive to Serengeti National Park

Drive Time: ~4–5 hours
Travel through the Ngorongoro Highlands into Serengeti. Enjoy game viewing en route and arrive in time for an afternoon drive. Overnight inside Serengeti.

Day 3: Full Day in Serengeti

Spend the day exploring the central or northern Serengeti. Spot lions, cheetahs, and possibly the Great Migration. Overnight in the same lodge or camp.

Day 4: Serengeti to Ngorongoro

Optional morning game drive. After breakfast, head back east to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with scenic stops. Overnight near the crater rim or in Karatu.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive

Early descent into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. Look out for endangered black rhinos and a dense variety of wildlife. Overnight near Lake Manyara or Karatu.

Day 6: Lake Manyara National Park – Return to Arusha

Morning game drive in Lake Manyara, famous for its tree-climbing lions, birdlife, and lush forest. After lunch, return to Arusha for departure or hotel drop-off.
